Táin Bó Battle Points System

 

Táin Bó is first and foremost a friendly competition amongst the branches of the SCA. All activities involved at the event have the potential for earning you and your branch points from fighting to volunteering.

 

Basically, for every member of your branch who participates in a battle activity, that member will receive 1 gold coin. The shire that wins any given activity, be it a castle siege melee, a YAC tournament, a "most hours volunteered" competition, etc. will earn their shire 1 jewel in the color of the appropriate pillar (green for A&S, blue for Service, red for Martial). Each of the 3 pillars will have the potentially for the same amount of jewels. Each jewel will be worth 10 points!

 

The branch with the most points at the end of the day will be victorious and will take home a beautiful gonfalon, with a space to affix their shire arms, that they will be encouraged to display proudly at other events.
